Bicycle with rider lying on stomach - has shell shaped to suit rider's anatomy and forming part of bicycle frame

The bicycle is so designed that the rider lies on his or her stomach whilst riding the machine. The rider is supported on a shell (2) which has its upper surface shaped to suit the rider's anatomy. The front end of the shell has a shoulder support (3) and a chin support (4). The shell may form an integral part of the bicycle frame and the steering head (5) may be attached to the shell. The cranks together with the pedals and chainwheel are mounted on the rear end of the frame behind the rear wheel. USE/ADVANTAGE - Bicycle with rider in prone position in order to reduce air resistance.
