To prepare mixts. of stone or ceramic materials for subsequent shaping or hardening, two basic mixts. are laid in layers at separate points on an underlay or a rotating drum. The rotary speed is set so that each applied layer is spread out and the layers of mixts. are homogenised by rotating or fixed units. The final mixt. is unloaded and transferred to the next processing stage. The final mixt. is pref. removed by semi-circular paddles which can take the place of the homogenising action of the rotating or fixed units. USE/ADVANTAGE - The mixed materials are for mfg. plates or blocks together with a bonding cement or resin, and can be based on recycled stone and ceramics. The technique saves on the space required by numerous conveyor belts, and also reduces maintenance time and costs.
