The solar panels on the outside of the vehicle charge an accumulator and also drive several ventilator fans (3,4) to vent the inside of the vehicle when parked. The system is controlled by a processor which progressively applies power to a first ventilator and then activates successive ventilators if required. The successive ventilators are progressively activated after the preceding ones are fully operating. This ensures adequate start-up current is available for the motors. If subsequent motors are not started properly a detection system repeats the start-up procedure. After a set number of attempts the time intervals between starting operations is increased. ADVANTAGE - Effective ventilation control when parked; fail-safe starting of ventilator motors.
