The method involves operating a ventilator in an engine compartment of a motor vehicle with ventilator power. The ventilator power is increased in relation to requirement of the ventilator power due to actual load balance of an energy storage during a passenger compartment cooling phase. An existing air conditioning system-blower is operated with reduced blower speed before a high pressure disconnection, where height of the reduction is provided within a coolant circuit at a predetermined position depending on actual high pressure of a coolant.
