In a self-propelled combine harvester with a two-part front cutting device, the cutting-device parts (3, 4) of which can be swung onto one another about a joint (11) and can be displaced jointly towards the machine centre as a result of a transversely displaceable mounting of one cutting-device part (3) on the machine frame, the displaceably mounted cutting-device part (3) has the maximum permissible total transport width (3m) of the machine and the swingable cutting-device part (4) has a smaller width.
