An apparatus for dividing a flowing liquid/gas mixture into several part streams consists of a cylindrical separator (2) with a vertical axis, a horizontal feed pipe (16) for the mixture leading into the separator and at least two vertical discharge pipes (18) for the part streams being taken into the separator through the bottom (6) thereof, the feed and discharge pipes ending above the liquid level in the separator, and passage orifices being provided in the discharge pipes both above and below the liquid level. In the separator (2), an inner cylinder (4) surrounding the discharge pipes is arranged parallel to the axis, the angular space (10) defined by the separator and the inner cylinder being connected to the interior of the inner cylinder via overflow orifices (12, 14) which are arranged close to the bottom (6) and the top (8) of the separator (2).
