The sensor comprises a measuring element (1) surrounded by a filter (5) made of copper or an alloy with a high copper content. Pref. the measuring element (1) acts as a capacitive humidity sensor coupled via a pair of lead wires (2) to an evaluation circuit contained in a separate housing (3). The lead wires (2) extend through a tube (4) between the measuring element (1) and the evaluation circuit, with the sintered, porous filter (5) fitted to its free end.
