The present invention relates to a new variety of ranunculus called PEPITE. This variety of ranunculus was obtained by artificial fertilisation of flowers of the female variety called "FIEVRE", with red flowers, with pollen from the male variety called "VICTORIA", with yellow flowers; it has an erect vegetation, with floral stalks accompanied by one or two secondary buds, smaller than the main flower, which are carried by long peduncles inserted onto the uppermost nodes of the floral stalks; the flower bud is medium-sized, globular, flat, with a sharp tip; the corolla is round, regular, in the form of a flat cup with barely festooned edges yellow in colour (ROYAL HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY COLOUR CHART 7 B); the petals are highly numerous, imbricated, arranged on the receptacle in very tight verticils, highly incurved inwards, they are very tight; the petals have a very round fan shape; the claw is robust and barely differentiated; the petals are highly variable in size depending on the position in the corolla, decreasing from the outside towards the centre (length 20-35 mm, width 22-30 mm for the outer petals), the upper face is yellow (RHS 7A) with the same yellow colour (RHS 7 A) on the outer edges of the petals; the inner face is more pale yellow (RHS 7 D) and greenish-white in colour (RHS 157 C) at the level of the claw; the texture is thin and resistant; the surface of both faces is silky.
