The fine length-adjustment device of the balanced type according to the present invention is designed to be used on hats, bras, etc., that is to say on any article whose position can be adjusted with the aid of a special strap. This device comprises an adjustment strap (35), a buckle (33), a clip (34), two rings (31, 32), and a left-hand strap (10) and a right-hand strap (20). One of the ends of the adjustment strap is connected to the buckle and then passes, in order, through the right-hand ring (32), the left-hand ring (31), the clip (34), the buckle and finally back through the clip (34). The adjustment strap is held fast between a positioning tab and a short loop (tube) of the clip. The positioning tab can pivot upwards and downwards in order to grip and immobilise the adjustment strap between itself and the short loop after the length of the adjustment strap has been adjusted between the two rings (31, 32).
