PURPOSE:To shorten the period of construction work by a method in which a bottom ground under water is water-tightly partitioned by a sheathing wall, the bottom ground is excavated while filling the section so partitioned with water, a timbering is provided in the section and fixed to the sheathing wall, during which period the water in the section is discharged. CONSTITUTION:A sheathing wall 5 is set the seabed ground 1, and an area A where a structure is to be constructed is excavated to a given depth. A timbering 12 made up of a waling 12, a shore strut 12b, and a column 12c is hung down from the tip of the crane of a ship and set in the wall 5. The waling 12a is fixed to the inside of the wall 5, and water is the wall 5 is discharged by a pump P. The ground 1a in the area A is dried up, and concrete 7 for foundation is placed to construct a concrete wall 6 on the inside of the wall 5.
