PURPOSE:To provide a process for directly embroidering a desired part of a thin and stretchable tubular or bag-shaped material such as stockings without using a thermobonding embroidering wappen and to provide a tool for the above process. CONSTITUTION:A water-soluble backing cloth piece 2 slightly larger than the area of a ring 1 is placed on the ring 1 having an inner diameter to enable close fitting of a lower frame 3 for embroidery. The lower frame 3 is put on the backing fabric piece from above to stretch the fabric on the frame. The embroidering part of a thin and highly stretchable tubular or bag-shaped material such as stockings is placed on the stretched backing fabric and an upper frame 4 is fit thereon to complete the stretching on the embroidery frame. After applying an embroidery by hand embroidery or machine embroidery, the upper frame 4, the lower frame 3 and the ring 1 are removed, the water-soluble backing fabric piece 2 sewn to the tubular or bag-shaped material by embroidery is dissolved and removed by immersing the product in water and the obtained product is dried to obtain a tubular or bag-shaped material having exclusively an embroidered wave on the surface.
