PURPOSE:To provide a developer for pressure-sensitive recording paper improving the water fading resistance of an image, having good color forming properties and extremely excellent in storage stability almost generating no yellowing even in the case of the exposure to the sunlight and acidic gas such as nitrogen oxide or sulfur oxide. CONSTITUTION:A developer for pressure-sensitive recording paper is obtained by compounding a polyvalent metal salt of a polycondensate of phenols containing alkyl substituted phenol, substituted salicylic acid and formaldehyde with at least one kind of a resin selected from a petroleum resin and a terpene resin and a developing sheet achieving the purpose is obtained using said developer.
