SYNTHESIS OF ADSORBENT RESIN

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled resin excellent in adsorptivity of carbonyl compounds and free chlorine and useful in refinement of 'shochu' (a Japanese distilled alcoholic beverage) and purification of water, by reacting a specified porous polymer with diethylenetriamine or the like. CONSTITUTION:Glycidyl methacrylate is mixed with 1-3vol% divinylbenzene as a crosslinking agent and isooctane, petroleum benzine and ligroin, each in a specified amount, as a diluent and the suspension-polymerized to obtain a porous polymer. This polymer is reacted with diethylenetriamine, triethylenetriamine or tetraethylenepentamine at about 175 deg.C for 1-7hr.
