PURPOSE: To improve resolution power by opening respective windows only for a time selected previously out of the time when lights from a red, a green, and a blue light source can be utilized. ;CONSTITUTION: A light source 12 sends a white light to an optical gate assembly 14 through an optical fiber cable 13. This optical gate assembly 14 filters the white light and supplies lights of the primary colors of red, green, and blue so as to generate all colors needed for respective pixels displayed by a color output display device. Then the optical gate assembly 14 supplies six individual window sequences that can be put in operation to send the respective color lights. Further, pixels are formed in a beam shape and sent to a scanning mirror 16. The scanning mirror 16 moves each pixel sequence stepwise until it is moved by a distance equal to the length of a row to be displayed. The light made into a beam by the scanning mirror 16 is converged by a lens system 18, redirected by a reflecting mirror, and sent to the eye of a wearer to provide an image.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO
