PURPOSE:To manufacture a high strength Ni alloy resisting against seawater corrosion, free from the generation of cracks at the time of blooming by preparing the molten metal of an alloy having a specified compsn. constituted of Ni, Al, Ti, Mg, C, Si, S, Fe and Cu by a gas shielding induction furnace. CONSTITUTION:The molten metal of an alloy having a compsn. contg. 63 to 70% Ni (in which, less than 2% can be substituted by Co), 2.3 to 3.15% Al, 0.35 to 0.85% Ti and 20 to 120ppm Mg, furthermore contg., at need, 10 to 100ppm Ca, =0.25% C, =0.50% Si, =1.5% Mn, =0.010% S, =2.0% Fe and the balance Cu with impurities is prepd. by using a gas shielding induction furnace. Next, this molten metal is made into an ingot in the atmosphere of an inert gas. The obtd. ingot is preferably extracted from the heating furnace at 1100+ or -50 deg.C and is subjected to blooming. In this way, the seawater corrosion resisting high strength Ni alloy free from the generation of cracks at the time of the blooming can be obtd. in a reduced process.
