PURPOSE: To prevent the front plate of a knee bolster and knee part from entering the inside of an instrument panel, and provide weight reduction. ;CONSTITUTION: A knee bolster front plate 6 is provided at an instrument panel 3 on an assistant driver seat 8 side of an automobile 2, and a hook part is protruded toward both the right and left sides on the vehicle front side of the knee bolster front plate 6. Besides, the hook part is inserted in a side plate stay 5 which is provided at the right and left on the inner part front side of an instrument panel 3. Thus, at the time of the collision of an automobile, the side plate stay 5 and the hook part of the knee bolster front plate 6 are engaged with each other by the deformation of the knee bolster front plate 6 to prevent the large deformation of the knee bolster front plate 6.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
