PURPOSE: To obtain the subject composition augmenting the contrast of an imaging diagnostic examination of a digestive tract, containing a carrier phase and ultrasonic and magnetic responding particles augmenting signals as a contrast augmenting agent, and capable of adjusting transport and maintenance times. ;CONSTITUTION: This image contrast augmenting agent capable of augmenting the image contrasts in each of an ultrasonic and an NMR imaging of human and animal digestive tracts, and adjusting transport and maintenance times in the diagnostic examination of the digestive tract both in firstly ultrasonic echograph and secondly the NMR imaging, is obtained by dispersing ultrasonic and magnetic responding particles capable of augmenting signals in a mixed state or a chemically bonded state with a physically permissible carrier phase, adjusting to attain pH≥13 in the dispersion, adding and mixing a carrier phase consisting of a water soluble polymer such as a carboxymethylcellulose and then separating an adduct product of the magnetic particles with the carrier phase.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO
