DYEING OF WOOL BY LOW TEMPERATURE PLASMA OR CORONA PRE-TREATMENT

PURPOSE: To obtain a uniformly dyed wool fabric without a flickering by treating a fibrous material with a low temperature plasma or a corona pre- treatment before its dyeing. ;CONSTITUTION: This method for dyeing wool comprises treating a wool fibrous material with a low temperature plasma pre-treatment (or corona pre-treatment) in a non-polymerizable gas (e.g.; oxygen, nitrogen), then dyeing the wool fabric by a usual method in an aqueous bath containing a dyestuff not containing a uniform dyeing agent to obtain a uniformly dyed wool dyed fabric without a flickering. By this method, a shrink prevention effect is also obtained. Further, as a preferable example of the plasma treatment, gas: oxygen, nitrogen, or the like; distance between electrodes: 2-10 cm; flow rate: 1-200 secm/m; pressure: 10^-2-1 mb; transmitter frequency: 30 MHz; electric power: 50 w-2 kw; treating period: 1-120 sec, are cited.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO
