PURPOSE: To detect the generated bending stress directly and to make it possible to shorten the time delay in detection by magnetically detecting the bending stress generated in magnetic material at a place where the bending stress is generated. ;CONSTITUTION: The detection of bending stress is performed with the magnetic-field detecting windings at positions 5 and 6 of an arm 3. When the bending stress is generated in the direction shown by 7, one of the stresses at the positions 5 and 6 becomes the tensile force, and the other becomes the compressive force. Current is made to flow through the positions 5 and 6 of the arm 3 from a power supply 8. Thus, the positions 5 and 6 are excited by an excitin winding 9. The magnetic fluxes are made to flow through a yoke 10. The magnetic flux excellently passes through the position, on which the tensile force is applied, among the positions 5 and 6. The magnetic flux is decreased on the side of the compressive force. The magnetic fields at the parts of the positions 5 and 6 are changed accordingly. The magnetic fields are detected with magnetic-field searching windings 11 and 12. The windings are connected in series so that the output directions are opposite. The outputs are detected with a detecting circuit 13 and fed black to a driving device 2. At this time, the magnetic field at one of the positions 5 and 6 is decreased, and the other is increased.
