PURPOSE: To provide a subject new peptide which gives a monoclonal antibody hopeful as a cell adhesion inhibitor for inhibiting the metastasis of carcinoma of the colon and rectum to liver or lungs since it inhibits the cell adhesion activity of carcino-embryonicantigen(CEA). ;CONSTITUTION: A peptide having the N-domain peptide sequence in the human CEA glycoprotein and another peptide sequence of either domain I or domain II or a sequence homologic to these domains. The peptide is obtained, for example, by digesting the CEA expression vector with a restriction enzyme to remove the gene coding domains II and III in the CEA expression vector, then linking the gene coding the N-domain and the other gene coding domains I, II, and III with ligase, integrating the gene into the plasmid to transform the host cells and culturing the transformant.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
