PURPOSE:To provide a new physiologically active peptide originated from the human or mammalian milk or its processed product, having gastric acid secretion suppressing action, free from side effect and useful as an economically advantageous gastric acid secretion suppressing agent, antiulcer agent, ulcer-preventing food or drink, pathologic food, etc. CONSTITUTION:Raw milk, defatted milk, whey, concentrated whey protein, etc., of human or mammal such as cow, sheep and goat is used as a raw material. The raw material is dissolved in water, the pH of the solution is adjusted to 3.5 with concentrated hydrochloric acid, the solution is subjected to ultrafiltration with an ultrafiltration membrane having a fractionation molecular weight of 20,000, the pH of the filtrate is adjusted to 7.0 with 25% caustic soda solution, the obtained liquid is again subjected to ultrafiltration under the same condition to effect the desalting and the concentration and the concentrated solution is subjected to diafiltration to obtain kappa-casein glyco-macro-peptide.
