DEVELOPING METHOD BY USING ONE COMPONENT TYPE MAGNETIC DEVELOPER

PURPOSE:To prevent attachment of silica to a developer spreading blade, to maintain a toner charge amount unchanged from an initial state even after uses for a long period, and to obtain stable images freed of deterioration of density and fogging by dispersing the silica same as that added to the magnetic toner into the toner spreading blade. CONSTITUTION:The developer composed of the toner is stored in a hopper 3 and fed to a developer carrying sleeve 2 with the developer spreading blade 4. This blade 4 is formed of a polyurethane foam and feeds the developer and also removes it to and from the sleeve 2. The silica same as that added to the developer is dispersed into the blade 4. The contact pressure between the blade 4 and the sleeve 2 is preferably 3-250g/cm in a linear pressure in the direction to the center of the sleeve 2.
