PURPOSE: To prevent the bacteria contamination of poultry by using a specific method to simply divide a poultry moving hanging down at a conveyer with its leg part into front/back half bodies and to prevent a skin from being torn off from poultry in the middle of dividing work. ;CONSTITUTION: First, at the time of carrying the slaughtered body of poultry by hanging with its leg part in the conveyer 2, the poultry 12a is placed at a position oblique with respect to a carrying direction so that the leg part is positioned on the front side of the other parts of the slaughtered body at the time of looking at from the direction 10. Next, downward force is added to both sides of the chest part of the poultry 12a by a guide 30 to fall down the chest part with respect to the leg part. Thereby the chest part 50 is positioned lower than the cutting surface of a rotation cutter 52 for horizontally dividing the poultry 12a. At last, the poultry 12a is cut at a position lower than thighs and higher than the chest part by the cutter 52 to divide the slaughtered poultry 12a into front/back half bodies 12e and 12d.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO
