SOLID COMPOSITION OF POLYGLYCIDYL COMPOUND HAVING MOLECULAR WEIGHT OF LESS THAN 1,500

PURPOSE: To provide a novel solid compsn. of polyglycidyl compds. having a mol.wt. of less than 1,500 which contains a solid polyglycidyl compd. and a normally liq. polyglycidyl compd. in a specified state and which is useful as a curative of a powder coating compsn. based on a carboxyl-terminated polyester. ;CONSTITUTION: This compsn. contains a solid polyglycidyl compd. (A) and, based on the total wt. of all the polyglycidyl compds., at least 5 wt.% liq. polyglycidyl compd. or its mixture (B), and the mol.wt. of the compsn. is less than 1.500. In the compsn., ingredient A is contained in the form of a solid mixed phase or a mixture of solid mixed phases, and the solid mixed phase or the mixture of solid mixed phases contains the total amt. of ingredient B as an additional component. Pref., the compsn. is prepd. by heating both the ingredients and cooling the resultant homogeneous liq. mixture to give a solid product. A pref. example of ingredient A is a tetraglycidyl ester of 2,2,5,5-tetra(β-carboxyethyl)cyclopentane.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO
