HEPATIC CELL MULTIPLICATION-ACCELERATING AGENT AND HEPATIC DISEASE-PREVENTING AGENT

PURPOSE: To provide a novel hepatic cell multiplication-accelerating agent and a novel hepatic disease-preventing agent both having an action of remarkably accelerating the recovery of hepatic cells and an excellent action on preventing hepatic diseases but having reduced side-effects. ;CONSTITUTION: A novel hepatic cell multiplication-accelerating agent and a hepatic disease-preventing agent each containing 11-deoxyglycyrrhizinic acid or its water-soluble salt (preferably an alkali metal salt such as sodium salt or potassium salt, or ammonium salt) as an active ingredient. The agents can be employed in the form of an oral agent or in the form of a parenteral administration agent such as suppository or injection. The active ingredient is usually administered in a dose of approximately 5-500mg/day when used arally or in a dose of approximately 0.5-50mg/day by injection. The compound is a natural substance contained in the extract of Glycyrrhiza glabra L. var. glandiulifera and can be readily produced from glycyrrhizin by a known method.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
