PURPOSE: To obtain simple structure which allows an embroidery frame driving part to move only in sewing for embroidery. ;CONSTITUTION: As for a sewing machine for selectively carrying out embroidery sewing and zigzag sewing, two lead screw shafts 36 each of which has a spiral lead groove 37 which is formed along the longitudinal direction on the outer peripheral side surface having a circular section and a repose groove part 38 which is in a prescribed angular range on an outer peripheral side surface having the equal sectional surface at the terminal edge place are installed in parallel in turnable manner, keeping a prescribed interval. Both engaging pins 40 can be engaged with the lead groove 37 and the repose groove part 38. An embroidery frame driving part 37 which can be shifted in parallel in the longitudinal direction of the lead screw shaft 36 in installed between both the engaging pins 40, and the engaging pin 40 which cooperates with a embroidery frame 6 is engaged with the lead groove 37 in embroidery sewing, while in the zigzag sewing, the engaging pin 40 is engaged with the repose groove part 38 through a stepping motor.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
