METHOD OF MANUFACTURING HONEY- COMB CORE USING THIN STRIP, DEVICE USING THIS METHOD, AND APPLICATION OF HONEYCOMB CORE FOR THE CONTINUOUS MANU- FACTURE OF COMPOUND BOARD

PURPOSE: To produce a honeycomb core of desired dimensions with low cost, high exactitude and frugal use of material by means of the detection of position of an adhesive strip which coast the foil strips, and the control of a positioning drive and a cutting device according to the detection result. CONSTITUTION: A foil sheet is cut in plural strips 10 of the width L equivalent to the height T of honeycomb core 41. A position detector 24 detects an adhesive strip 6 on the passing of one of the strips 10 to determine the position of the adhesive strip 6 relative to an end of stack 40 and to actuate an electronic control unit which controls a positioning drive 25 and a cutting device 26. The strip 10 is progressively joined to the underlying strip 10' as it goes ahead from one end to other end of the stack. Immediately before the joining at the other end, the strip 10 is cut by the cutting device 26 to a length equivalent to the width L of the honeycomb core 41 to be produced under the limitation of both ends.
