PURPOSE: To obtain the subject new lightweight ceramic porous material improved in the moisture, temperature and heat-insulating function at a low cost by sintering at a prescribed temperature an inorganic foamed product obtained by mixing a calcined natural zeolite, an inorganic natural soil material, an inorganic raw material and water. ;CONSTITUTION: The finely ground product of a tuff natural zeolite mainly containing a mineral such as schapthyrol zeolite capable of being thermally converted from a crystalline form into an amorphous form is thermally dehydrated at a temperature below the above-mentioned quality-changing temperature to obtain the foaming function-imparted calcined natural zeolite (A). An inorganic raw material (B) is selected from Kanuma pumice bed, etc., mainly containing a crystalline mineral such as quartz having a melting temperature higher than the above-mentioned quality-changing temperature. An inorganic waste material such as furnace water-granulated slag is finely ground to obtain an inorganic raw material (D). Subsequently, the components A, B and D and water are mixed with each other to obtain an inorganic foaming material (E). The component E is sintered at approximately 1000°C to produce a ceramic porous material. The 1000°C is a temperature which is higher than the quality-changing temperature of the mineral component A but which is lower than the softening or melting temperature of the mineral component D.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
