PURPOSE:To more improve an irregular diagonal winding preventing effect by setting winding ratio of avoidance coarse at the time of small package winding diameter and fine at the time of large package winding diameter. CONSTITUTION:At the time of starting winding, a traverse speed is gradually decelerated from an upper limit F0 point toward a lower limit F1 point in accordance with winding increase of a package on a line E of connecting the upper limit F0 of winding ratio (W)8 to the lower limit F1 of W9, and during this time, the traverse speed is oscillated about the line E by predetermined amplitude A and period. The traverse speed, when it reaches the lower limit F1 in the vicinity of W9, is rapidly accelerated toward an upper limit F2 point of the W9. Next, the traverse speed is decelerated gradually from the upper limit F2 toward a lower limit F3 of W10, hereinafter repeating avoidance by a 0.5 winding ratio interval to a lower limit of W11. Then, the traverse speed is decelerated toward a lower limit F19 of W18 from an upper limit F18 of W17 avoiding to the W17 by a 0.25 wind ratio interval from an upper limit of W11 to wind the package.
