PURPOSE: To provide the subject brazing filler metal capable of improving joint strength, comprising an inert metallic material and vanadium (V) at specified proportion. ;CONSTITUTION: The objective brazing filler material can be obtained by incorporating (A) 80-99wt.% of an inert metallic material such as of Pd, Au, Cu or Ni base with (B) 20-1wt.% of vanadium, an active metal. This brazing filler metal is put, as necessary, in between nonoxide ceramics such as silicon nitride or SIALON followed by heating at 1000-1200°C to produce a nonoxide ceramic joined form.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
