PURPOSE: To improve the efficiency of data monitor by supplying the graphic display of an internal system resource designated by a user to execute data analysis in real time. CONSTITUTION: A monitor system 21 is conceptually divided into two different operations, namely, a data collecting function(DCF) 23 and a resource monitor(RM) 25. An application programming interface 27 (or API) is used as an interface between two operating models. The DCF 23 collects key performance data for various resources 31 to be traced, and the RM 25 provides plotting of resource use. That is, a resource event brought about by a data processing system is received, and it is determined based on this resource event whether the resource event should be filtered or passed, and the passed resource event is processed, and resource events of the same type are merged into a single event, thus acquiring and reducing resource data in real time.
