ANTIOXIDANT WITH FLEXIXANTHIN AS ACTIVE INGREDIENT AND PRODUCTION OF FLEXIXANTHIN

摘要

PURPOSE: To provide a powerful antioxidant preventing foods, cosmetics, medicines, or fatty oil from oxidation, containing, as active ingredient, flexixanthin. ;CONSTITUTION: For example, in the case of using a crude extract or purified flexixanthin as active ingredient, this agent is conditioned by emulsification and added, in the form of cream, to a food or cosmetic at a level of 0.1g/kg or 0.05g/kg, respectively. The flexixanthin can be obtained by culture of flexixanthin-producing microorganisms belonging to Flavobacterium [KK 10202C strain (FERM P-12433)] and by separating microbial cells from the resulting cultured product followed by extraction with an organic solvent.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
