PURPOSE:To precisely measure the temperature in a sample tube with high sensitivity in a wide temperature range and correctly calibrate the temperature of a sample in the solid NMR by the magic angle spinning method. CONSTITUTION:Potassium chlorate is filled in a sample tube, the nuclear quadruple resonance frequency of the chlorine atom with the mass number of 35 is measured by the pulse excitation method at the same rotating speed of the sample tube and the environmental gas temperature as the measuring conditions, the temperature in the sample tube is determined from the obtained resonance frequency, and the temperature of a sample in the sample tube at the rotating speed of the sample tube and the environmental gas temperature is calibrated. The nuclear quadruple resonance frequency is measured while the static magnetic field negating the virtual magnetic field generated in proportion to the rotating speed when the sample tube is rotated is applied, thus the nuclear quadruple resonance signal is made a sharp spectrum.
