METHOD FOR ADDING CARBON TO COKE IN ITS DRY FIRE EXTINGUISHING EQUIPMENT AND RECOVERY OF MIXED GAS GENERATED BY CARBON ADDITION

PURPOSE: To obtain carbon-added, high-quality coke by spraying the tar or its combination with tar slag, separated from the crude gas generated from a coke oven, on red hot coke charged into a dry fire extinguishing equipment via its top together with a N₂ gas stream to effect pyrolysis of the tar etc. ;CONSTITUTION: The tar or its combination with tar slag separated in purifying the crude gas generated from a coke oven 1 is pressurized by a relevant means 12 via the primary storage tank 3 and then sprayed, together with a N₂ gas stream, on the red hot cake in the coke oven 1 to effect the adhesion to and impregnation into the red hot coke of the tar, etc., and cause the pyrolysis of the tar, etc., thus adding carbon to the coke. Thence, a combustible gas produced by the pyrolysis is mixed with the N₂ gas stream followed by a N₂ gas from a N₂ gas blowing unit 5, and the resulting gas as a mixed gas is recovered through a flue 16.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
