C_3H_2F_3Br (1323) is a new kind of Halon replacement that developed by State Key Laboratory of Fire Science in University of Science and Technology of China. 1323 was mixed with nitrogen to form the binary fire extinguishing agent to improve the disperse capability of it. The extinguishing concentration of the nitrogen and 1323 binary mixtures was estimated based on adiabatic flame temperature calculations and the dependence of the rate of fire suppression of chemical agents on temperature. Besides that, cup burner experiments were conducted for the concentrations of binary fire extinguishing agent composed of 1323 and nitrogen. In addition, the synergistic of nitrogen and 1323 in fire suppression was also discussed.
