PURPOSE:To enable the measurement of the central venous pressure during dialysis with the above method and device for a dialysis patient by measuring the blood pressure in a return blood circuit in the state of stopping the leading out of the blood in the body and controlling a water removal quantity by the blood cleaning device in such a manner that the blood pressure is maintained within a prescribed range. CONSTITUTION:The artery side in the shunt part of the patient laid down in a bed and an indwelling needle of a tube 8 for leading out as well as the vein side thereof and an indwelling needle of a tube 11 for returning the blood are respectively connected while a heparin-added physiological salt soln. is held filled in the tubes 11 to 14 and in the pressure measuring instrument 3. An blood pump 8 is operated to fill the blood in the respective tubes 11 to 14 and the pressure measuring instrument 3 and thereafter, the pump 8 is stopped. The patient' s venous pressure before the dialysis is then measured. A blood circuit closing device 2 and a shunt part compressing device 4 are thereafter removed and the blood pump 8 is operated to start the dialysis by the blood cleaning device 7. The central venous pressure during the dialysis is measured and the water removal quantity is so controlled as to be maintained within the prescribed range.
