PURPOSE:To prove an underwater floating body for a semi-submerged marine structure, which may reduce overturning moments, with a relatively simple arrangement and without requiring a power, by providing an inhibiting member which may inhibit the motion of fluid on the upper surface of the underwater floating body, on the latter. CONSTITUTION:Fin-like inhibiting plates 4 are arranged on both sides of the upper surface of an underwater floating member 3 through the intermediary of support columns 5. When the underwater floating body 3 comes up near to the water surface, the motion of fluid on the upper surface of the floating body 3 is inhibited by the inhibiting plates 4. As a result,the fluid therearound is moved together with the floating body 3, and therefore, the fluid may be regarded as a part of the floating body 3 so that the latter apparently falls in a water surface piercing condition, resulting in that a downward steady force is effected to reduce turning-over moments. Further, if the inhibiting plates 4 are movable so that the angles of the inhibiting plates 4 are changed in accordance with several marine meteorological conditions, it is possible to enhance the stability thereof.
