CORRECTED CHARACTER PROCESSING METHOD FOR OPTICAL CHARACTER READER

PURPOSE:To read corrected characters by deciding whether or not each separated pattern in a group of read patterns contains an erasion line which satisfies the prescribed conditions and therefore deleting an erased character pattern. CONSTITUTION:A corrected character deciding part 108 searches for a pattern which is possibly identical to the character erased by an erasion line based on the contour information given from a contour tracking part 107. When said pattern is obtained, the contour information on the pattern is sent to a straight line detecting part 109. Then it is decided whether the part 109 contains erasion lines b1 and b2 or not. The result of this decision is sent back to the part 108. If those erasion lines exist, the contour information on all patterns are sent to a corrected character deleting part 110. Then the contour information on the patterns excepting a corrected character pattern are sent to a character pattern allocating part 106. The part 106 cuts out the character pattern every character, and this pattern is recognized by a recognizing part 111.
