OPTICAL FREQUENCY CONVERSION SYSTEM AND OPTICAL FREQUENCY CONVERSION

PURPOSE: To simply convert a frequency (wavelength) of an optical wave made incident through the use of only a filter for frequency (wavelength) selection and an optical distributor. ;CONSTITUTION: An input light 11 is distributed at a frequency (wavelength) area by an optical frequency (wavelength) distributor 12 and a variable frequency (wavelength) filter 13 selects the frequency (wavelength) to be outputted. That is, the optical frequency (wavelength) conversion is realized by introducing the Distribution Network type optical conversion system in the frequency (wavelength). Thus, the optical frequency (wavelength) converter converting the optical frequency (wavelength) freely is realized with simple component configuration independently of the modulation form of the optical signal, then the large capacity optical conversion is easily and simply formed in the optical information processing and optical transmission system.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
