PURPOSE: To enable the activation of a microcomputer during absence of a microcomputer by providing the microcomputer with an optical card which records various kinds of information and the occurrence of an event, activates the microcomputer in case the occurrence of the event is identified and non- activates the microcomputer when the execution of the function ends. CONSTITUTION: The personal computer has data processing and memory constituting parts, data signal transfer bus, a switchable power source or activating and non-activating the data processing and memory constituting parts and the control option card 110 in the network. The option card 110 consists of a memory element 118, an event tracing element 115 and an activation control element 116. The option card 110 stores various kinds of the information, registers the occurrence of the event, activates the network server personal computer to start the function to be executed in case the occurrence of the event if identified. The option card non-activates the network server personal computer in performing the function.
