NORMAL SOLUTION FOR MEDICAL TREATMENT CONTAINING NO SERUM AND PRESERVATION OF CORNEA USING SAID SOLUTION

PURPOSE: To provide a substance or method for reinforcing visual tissue, especially, cornea tissue during the preservation before implantation of the cornea of a donor at a time of the implantation of the cornea. ;CONSTITUTION: A normal soln. for medical treatment containing no serum is characterized by containing an aq. nutrient, an electrolyte, glycosaminoglycan, a deswelling agent, an energy source, a buffering agent, an oxidation inhibitor, a membrane stabilizer, an antibiotic and/or an antifunagl agent, an ATP precursor and a cell nutrition auxiliary agent and, at a time of the implantation of the cornea, this soln. is used to preserve the cornea. Further, the survival power of cornea tissue is reinforced by keeping normal physiological metabolism and the deswelling of the cornear during low temp. preservation and a period capable of keeping the characteristics of fresh eye tissue, especially, fresh cornea tissue is extended.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO
