PURPOSE: To enable a great attenuating force to be obtained according to the complicated vibration of a cable by connecting a clamp section for holding the cable, and a damper section to be fixed on a bridge girder, to each other with the sufficiently long wire of flexibility. ;CONSTITUTION: From a clamp section 1 for holding a cable C rigidly, the sufficiently long wire section 2 of flexibility is vertically set, and the wire section 2 is connected to a damper section 3 to be fixed on a bridge girder. The damper section 3 is provided with a casing 18 filled up with viscous fluid L having the upper section blocked with a cover body 19. Besides, into the space section of the casing 18, a resistance body 20 with a resistance shell section 23 for a main body is coaxially inserted, and the resistance shell section 23 is embedded in the viscous fluid L over a specified area. Besides, in a space between the cover body 19 and the resistance body 20, controlling springs 21 are fitted. As a result, the resistance body 20 is interlocked with the tension displacement of the wire section 2, and the damper section 3 is permited sensitively to react also to the slight vibration of the cable C, and oscillation can be absorbed before resonance phenonenon is generated.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
