Transparent cosmetic composition that reflects infrared radiation based on titanium dioxide flakes and its use for the protection of the human epidermis against infrared radiation. Disclosed is a composition for protecting the human péiderme, transparent, containing in a cosmetically acceptable medium, as an agent that reflects infrared radiation 0.5 to 10% by weight of titanium dioxide flakes sizes from 1 , 5 and 25 microns dispersible utlise the cosmetic medium, having a Reflectante (R) of the infrared radiation of at least 45% and of which a 2% dispersion in petroleum jelly has an optical transmission in the visible region of at least 85 %. This cosmetic composition may also contain 0.5 to 20% by weight of UV-A filters or broadband.
