The invention concerns a new bacterial strain of Pseudomonas syringae, demarcated as B 17, registered in the Czechoslovak Library of Micro-organisms of J. E. Purkyne University in Brno under reference number CCM 4073. The new strain of bacterial cells exhibit roughly three times the effect from the point of view of the creation of crystal nuclei in comparison with the original strain. In the form of a suspension of free or disintegrated cells it accelerates the process of transforming water into ice at higher temperatures than for existing known strains. It can be used for freezing foods, production of frozen foods, making artificial snow and ice and for immunoassays, inducing artificial rain and preventing hail.IMAGE
