Appts is used change the height of liq level or to maintain it constant, esp for use as secanter equipment. - It is based on a stationary slotted pipe attached to the discharge discharge pipe. It is also provided with a slotted cylinder which may be turned. This surrounds at least the portion of the slotted pipe which contains the slot. The bottom end of the cylinder is sealed against the slotted pipe. - The cylinder is also provided with a slot which is at an angle to the stationary slot of the pipe.
