Method for producing a pair of tweezers, and tweezers produced in this way

In connection with producing a pair of metal tweezers, a rod-like semi-finished product is split into two longitudinal halves by means of spark erosion, which longitudinal halves each represent a jaw of the tweezers. The spark erosion is carried out using a spark erosion wire which executes both a feed movement and a reciprocating movement, so as to form a gripping surface on the jaws, with grooves which run in the transverse direction. After the gripping surfaces have been formed, the spark-erosion wire executes only a feed movement, in order to form two arms which each support a jaw, which arms represent a continuation of and form a single unit with a base part. The transverse dimension of the tweezers produced in this way is greater at the location of the jaws than at the location of the arms and the base part. Arms and base part can be displaced in a sleeve between a retracted position, in which the jaws are close together, and an extended position, in which the jaws point away from one another under the influence of the curved basic shape of the arms.
