The method of manufacturing a domestic appliance involves forming a number of side panels and a base panel. Each panel is formed by extruding two sheets of plastic material into the space between two opposed open die members contg. cavities. The die members are closed to seal the edges of both sheets together, and the sheets conform to the shape of the die cavities between the sealed edges, thereby providing a hollow domestic appliance panel. The base and side panels are die formed to provide respective integral interlocking device in the panel edges, such that the interlocking device extends downwardly and inwardly at an angle to the vertial when the base is horizontal and is adapted to cooperate with the side panel interlocking devices, which extend from the side panel at an angle corresp. to that at which the base panel interlocking device extends. The side panels are assembled on the base by engagement of the base and side panel interlocking devices.
