The optically active composites 5-[-(3,4 dimethoxyphenyl)methylammonium]-2-isopropyl-2-(3,4,5-trimethoxyphenyl)-valeronitrile chloride (gallopamil hydrochloride) are found to be more pharmacologically active whilst contemporarily having minor side effects such as cutaneous rashes and constipation of the corresponding racemic form.
