The ball may be made from plastic, rubber or leather and is about 10 cm. in diameter. The ball is inflatable and fitted with a retractable valve which does not appear on the outside of the ball once it is inflated. The valve is fitted and the base of a cylinder in the surface of the ball and may be plugged with a metal plug. The ball is fitted at any point with an integral eye on its surface. An elastic cord is attached to the ball by the eye. This enables the ball to be thrown or hit and to return to its starting point, without the player having to move.
