METHOD FORCONTROLLING BLASTING OPERATIONSAbstract of the DisclosureA method for predicting the ground vibration and airbornenoise at any position resulting from a blasting operation using thedata obtained from one or more single-charge low level blasts. Byusing convolution in the frequency domain, large charge weightnonlinear vibrations are considered, such that the optimum excitationfrequency (detonation delays) is induced for minimizing objectionableground and air vibrations and noise. The method also allowsoptimization of the number, position and loading of the blast holes,and the number and position of charges detonated per delay period toproduce maximum removal of material without damage to surroundingstructures.
